We’re all aware that reading is linked to overall academic success. But did you know that it is MUCH more than simply reading words aloud? It’s analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing information in math, science, and social studies. It is about learning how to interpret and make meaning from what you’re reading.
When it comes to fostering reading skills in our children, the earlier the better. It’s especially critical for children ages 0-9. Did you know that children not reading proficiently in third grade are four times more likely not to graduate from high school. So where do you start?
