Dear Friends,
This week we celebrate and honor the incredible life of an amazing advocate, leader, mother of five grown children, wife and friend. Lisa Robertson was an active leader in women’s ministry, founded Changing Seasons, authored and led Bible studies, published an Advent guide and served on the boards of the Museum of the Bible, Proverbs 31 Ministries, Alpha North America, E3: Elevate Early Education and The New E3 School.
Lisa worked tirelessly alongside many of us since 2002 when the early education effort in Virginia was ignited in Hampton Roads. She was a founding board member of Smart Beginnings South Hampton Roads, E3: Elevate Early Education + The New E3 School.
She was known to have quiet conversations with governors and policymakers about the importance of high quality early education for all children and families.
As part of the work of Smart Beginnings South Hampton Roads and E3, she spearheaded the creation of Faithful Beginnings to equip families of young children with early learning activities combined with faith foundations. Her family will continue this important initiative.
When she wrote her book, The Path of Life and gave me a signed copy, I told her she made E3 famous by mentioning our organization in the book. With her quick wit that she was known for, she said, “E3 made me famous.”
I will cherish my memories and friendship with Lisa. She helped me raise my children, navigate challenging seasons, prayed for my family and was with me every step of the way cheering as WE created several organizations and a school from scratch.
Over the coming weeks and years ahead, we will celebrate and honor her dedication to children and families in Virginia.
